According to foreign media reports, Hyundai Mobis will provide chassis modules for Mercedes-Benz's electric vehicle models in the US market. The South Korean company said that this is the second time it has received a large order for modules from abroad after Chrysler in the United States.

Hyundai Mobis has established a chassis module plant in Macala, Alabama, USA, close to the Mercedes-Benz plant in the United States, and has started mass production in the third quarter of this year. This is the company's fifth production site in the United States.

As a large-scale component combination, the chassis module refers to combining these parts around the frame. The chassis module corresponds to the core system that determines the driving stability of the vehicle. According to the installation position, it can be divided into front chassis and rear chassis.

The models that Hyundai Mobis will supply chassis modules are pure electric vehicles. Four off-road models (SUVs) equipped with platforms dedicated to electric vehicles will be fitted with chassis modules from Hyundai Mobis. According to the mass production plan of these models, Hyundai Mobis will supply front and rear chassis modules sequentially.

This cooperation marks the importance of Hyundai Mobis' module technology and expertise recognized by one of the world's automotive brands. Since 1999, Hyundai Mobis has been mass-producing three core modules, including the driver's seat module, the front-end module (a module that integrates air conditioning, lighting, and bumper systems), and a chassis module. At present, the company provides key components such as electrical equipment, lighting, and audio for General Motors, Stellantis, Volkswagen, and Geely Automobile.
